Afrowood Movie Screening: Adú

ADU Afrowood Movie Flyer
Sanford Hall 313 or Zoom

The African Studies Institute cordially invites you to the screening of the movie Adú

Looking for an exceptional work of cinematographic expertise and creative thriller? Adú may be just the movie for you. Inspired by true events, the movie intertwines three storylines related to the African immigration to Europe. A six-year-old boy and his older sister make a desperate attempt to flee Cameroon for Europe, waiting on a runway to smuggle themselves inside an airplane's cargo hold. Not far away, an activist against illegal hunting discovers the terrible scene of a dead elephant, its tusks removed. As well as fighting against illegal poaching, he has to face issues with his daughter, recently arrived in the country. Thousands of miles to the north, in Melilla a Spanish city in North Africa, a group of civil guards face a mass assault on the Melilla border fence by Africans desperate to gain access to Spain

ASI will be screening a number of African films that promote, educate, and inform people about the diversity of African cultures. We will be hosting these screenings once every month.

Does Adú deliver on its promise of heart-stopping suspense and non-stop action? Join us in person at Sanford Hall 313 or the Zoom virtual watch party to find out.
